This work explores how disability and illness affect one's identity. Through my own experience due to the loss of my voice, I wish to explore how my own consciousness of this is affected by my internal and external dialogue.
For me our consciousness is what makes us aware of ourselves, it holds our memories, our sense of being, and our physical placement within our environment.

In my work, I explore this further through a connection to the metaphysical quality of these lost abilities held within my own consciousness, its placement, connection, and continuing existence within our world.

The content was informed by sufferers of Dystonia and Spasmodic Dysphonia, a neurological condition that affects how the brain communicates with muscles.
